Mayor Mike Spano swears in Judge Ada Medina

YONKERS – Ada Medina has been sworn in by Mayor Mike Spano as a new city court judge in Yonkers.

“Ada has been in public service for over 20 years, serving the Westchester community, especially our most vulnerable population, providing legal representation to those who are unable to afford an attorney,” said Spano. “Ada’s professionalism, deep knowledge and experience in the judicial system will prove to be a great asset to the Yonkers City Court system.”

Medina joins the Yonkers bench after serving as the region chief and counsel for Legal Aid Society of Westchester. There, she supervised attorneys who litigate the top three felony caseloads in the county. From 2017 through 2021, she supervised the Yonkers region.

Medina fills the vacancy left by Judge Thomas Quinones and will run for a full 10-year term in the November election.

She joins Yonkers City Court Judges Karen Best, Arthur Doran, Evan Inlaw, Daniel Romano, Verris Shako, and Elena Goldberg Velazquez.
