POUGHKEEPSIE – The City of Poughkeepsie has once again received a limited number of free COVID-19 test kits and will be distributing them on Thursday, January 6.  Thursday’s distribution of the COVID test kits will take place at the City of Poughkeepsie Police Headquarters parking lot at City Hall, 62 Civic Center Plaza.

The at-home tests are being supplied by Dutchess County to municipalities across the county based on population. People also will receive information on what they should do in the event they test positive with the at-home kit. There are currently more than 5,700 COVID cases in Dutchess County.  Additional information can be found on the Dutchess County Covid Dashboard, located HERE.

The city will begin distributing the kits to the public via drive-thru or walk-up from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday. There are two tests in each kit, and kits will be limited to one per car or per walk-up. Proof of residency is required.

Additional at-home test kits are expected to be available to the city and other municipalities in the near future as the county receives them.
