ALBANY – A new state law makes it illegal to falsify a COVID-19 vaccination card. The legislation considers a vax card to be a written instrument, thus making falsification a misdemeanor.
The law also creates a new felony of computer tampering for intentionally entering, alteration or destruction of “computer material” regarding COVID-19 vaccine provisions.
The law notes that individuals who misrepresent their vaccination history not only jeopardize their own health, but the health of all those with whom they come in contact.
