Pedestrian struck and killed in Town of Ulster

TOWN OF ULSTER – A pedestrian crossing Route 28 at the intersection with Forest Hill Drive in the Town of Ulster was struck and killed by a vehicle in the area of Motel 19, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The 6:40 p.m. accident on Tuesday, December 21 occurred when a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Route 28 and struck the pedestrian who was crossing the roadway, investigators said.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

The names of the people involved were withheld by authorities pending notification of relatives.

Detectives were assisted by State Police and their Collision Reconstruction Unit, Town of Ulster Police, Ulster Hose Fire Department and Mobile Life Support Services.
