KINGSTON – The 2022 Kingston City budget of $46.7 million is a slight modification of the spending plan proposed by Mayor Steven Noble.

The mayor is pleased with the outcome of the budget cycle, noting it is the seventh straight year of no increase in the tax levy.

“We are able to add 22 new positions in critical service areas like the police department, public works, parks and recreation, the building department, all to be able to help support making sure that we can deliver critical services to all of our residents in the City of Kingston,” he said.

The spending plan includes a $10,000-a-year raise for the mayor, bringing his salary to $90,000, and also provides pay hikes for management confidential employees.
