WASHINGTON – Two area House members said President Biden’s signing of the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will mean a major shot in the arm for the Hudson Valley/Catskills economy.

Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (D, NY-18) said it will translate into a significant boost for the region.

“This is going to mean thousands of good-paying jobs on wages you can raise a family on and it’s going to mean better roads and bridges, better drinking water systems and wastewater systems, better broadband access, better airports,” he said. “It’s a big win for America and I’m particularly proud that my bill to fund repairs on thousands of New York bridges is included in the package.”

Congressman Antonio Delgado (D, NY-19) said in addition to the infrastructure components, the bill includes his provisions to strengthen limo safety and promote American-made manufacturing.
