CT woman arrested for driving drunk, striking gas pump

Saugerties Police Chief Joe Sinagra has been placed on paid administrative leave.

SAUGERTIES – A 23-year-old Bethel, Connecticut woman has been arrested on a charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated and other crimes after she crashed into a gas pump at Sam’s Food Mart on Route 9W in the Barclay Heights area of Saugerties.

The incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. on November 5.

When Saugerties Police arrived, they found the driver, identified as Ginia Mireva Rodriguez-David, was being detained by several witnesses.

She was tested at police headquarters where a chemical test of her breath established her BAC was 0.19 percent.

Rodriguez-David was also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

She was released to a third party pending a future court appearance.
