POUGHKEEPSIE – The Poughkeepsie Public Library will be opening a satellite branch at the Family Partnership Center as a result of $25,000 in grant money secured by Assemblyman Jonathan Jacobson (D-104).  The announcement was made earlier this week.

Assemblymember Jacobson said, “A library does no good if it is inaccessible to the people who need it, so I am proud to have been able to secure the Poughkeepsie Public Library District a $25,000 Assembly grant that will help develop its satellite branch in the Family Partnership Building.”  He continued by saying “The Family Partnership offers many services to Poughkeepsie residents. Now, this satellite branch will provide, not only reading material and computers, but a safe space for young people in the surrounding neighborhoods to study and spend time with their friends.”

Jacobson was joined at the announcement by Tom Lawrence, the Poughkeepsie Public Library District Director, Dianne Blazek, President of the Library Board of Trustees, and Whitney Humphrey and Tanysha Casellas Stewart from Family Services.
