POUGHKEEPSIE – The Derby Restaurant at 96 Main Street in Poughkeepsie is once again offering a free buffet for police, fire, EMS, and military personnel on Saturday, September 11.  This is the third year that owner Joe Rabasco has provided this showing of gratitude.

“September 11th was truly horrific for this country.  Watching the coverage of the devastation in NYC, it was amazing to see the police, fire, and ambulance personnel running towards the towers when everyone else was running away.  It was the ultimate example of heroism and I want to thank our heroes every chance I get.”

Rabasco will be putting out a buffet of ziti, London broil, Chicken Francese, and salad from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for all first responders and military to come and enjoy at no cost.  “Our local heroes often go unappreciated and I want them to know that we appreciate their sacrifices,” said The pub owner.  “If the first responders bring in their company patch, I will gladly display it on our wall.”
