Police crack two-year-old armed robbery case

PLEASANT VALLEY – State Police believe they have solved the April 30, 2019 armed robbery of the Mobil Service Station on Route 44 in the Town of Pleasant Valley with the arrest of a Hyde Park man.

Patrick Simmons, 55, was taken into custody on Monday, September 6 and charged with two counts of robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies, and a misdemeanor of assault.

It is alleged that Simmons entered the store, displayed a firearm and injured the store clerk.

After a two-year investigation, State Police, in conjunction with the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office and the State Police Forensic Intelligence Center, identified Simmons.

He was arraigned and remanded to the county jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail, $100,000 bond, or $150,000 partially secured bond.
