MONTICELLO – A Restore New York grant of $1.2 million for development of a nightclub on Broadway in Monticello has been rescinded and the village is hoping to convince the state to reapprove it.

The grant, pulled in September 2020, was tabled because of what Mayor George Nikolados said was a lack of communication and details of work done.

“I know there were quite some deficiencies in his paperwork and they claim to have gotten that taken care of. As a village, the board wants to see that project finished and we are doing our due diligence and asking if the state will open the grant back up,” he said.

The plan by developer Tommy Ting has been in the works for several years.
