Kingston man arrested for possession of gun stolen in Georgia

KINGSTON – A vehicle and traffic stop in the City of Kingston resulted in the arrest of a man on charges of criminal possession of a weapon.

State Police pulled over a vehicle on Flatbush Avenue on Thursday, August 26 and a search yielded a .380 caliber Bersa Thunder handgun belonging to a passenger, 18-year-old Jaden Rogers.

Investigation determined the gun was reported stolen to the Myrsa Police Department in Georgia.

Rogers was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
