TOWN OF WALLKILL – A 48-year-old Town of Wallkill man was committed to the Orange County Jail on $50,000 cash bail or $150,000 bond following an incident Tuesday morning.
It is alleged that the man, whose name police did not make public, struck a 71-year-old local woman while she was standing in the driveway of her home at 2 Apache Trail. The domestic incident occurred around 6:40 a.m. on August 24.
She was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center by Town of Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance, where she is listed in serious but stable condition, police said.
The defendant was charged with armed assault and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
