MONTICELLO – A number of businesses are looking to move to Sullivan County, an official of the Sullivan County Partnership told the county legislature’s Economic Development Committee.

Vanessa Olivo, an economic development specialist at the Partnership said a solar panel manufacturer is looking to develop a 250,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and a European yogurt manufacturer is looking for a production location.

“We are also currently working with a cannabis production company that is looking to site a 100,000-square-foot. They still have to go through licensing through the state,” she said. “We have met with a developer that is seeking to create market-rate housing and this developer is interested in old hotel sites, Grossingers, Concord, areas such as that.”

Also going through the planning process is a treehouse getaway facility on 800 acres in Bethel.
