POUGHKEEPSIE – At approximately 3 p.m. Sunday, City of Poughkeepsie Police began an investigation into a possible abduction of a girl in the vicinity of 43 Corlies Avenue. Police were originally dispatched to that location for a report of a stabbing.
Witnesses in the area told police that two men in a Dodge Caravan pulled up and abducted a female, and then sped off. An officer located a van matching the description given by witnesses, behind a store on Main Street.
A police K-9 unit from Livingston, in Columbia County, arrived in Poughkeepsie at approximately 4 p.m. to assist with the search.
Police sources told Mid-Hudson News that they are investigating all aspects of the alleged abduction.
