LAGRANGE – Professional firefighters from the LaGrange and Arlington fire departments have been working to remove an occupant of a vehicle that was trapped when their vehicle slammed into the corner of a building at 2019 New Hackensack Road earlier this afternoon.

The LaGrange fire department was summoned to the scene at approximately 12:38 p.m. for the report of a vehicle into the building.  Upon arrival, it was determined that the occupant was trapped and the building was in danger of collapsing.  The “Collapse Team” consisting of members of the Arlington, Poughkeepsie, and LaGrange fire departments responded to shore the building up so that the vehicle occupant could be rescued.

LaGrange Fire Chief Tim O’Connor said that operations were just wrapping up at approximately 2:45 p.m. and additional information would be provided this afternoon.
