GOSHEN – A second person has announced his candidacy for Orange County sheriff.
Paul Arteta retired from the sheriff’s office last year after 28 years on the job.
“I am well-rounded. I started out in the jail and I worked my way up through the ranks up to captain. I worked just about every aspect of the sheriff’s office and believe I am the best candidate for the job,” he said.
Arteta is a Republican as is the current Undersheriff, Kenneth Jones, who recently announced his candidacy for the post.
Long-time Sheriff Carl DuBois has announced that he will retire at the conclusion of his current term in 2022.
