POUGHKEEPSIE – A search warrant that was executed on Wednesday at 60 Carroll Street resulted in the seizure of guns and drugs from an apartment.  Two men were taken into custody and turned over to US Marshalls to face federal charges.

The 5:00 a.m. raid of apartment C-3 by the City of Poughkeepsie Police Neighborhood Recovery Unit with the assistance of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the Dutchess County Drug Task Force was the result of an ongoing investigation into drug activity and gun violence at the apartment building, according to Police Captain Richard Wilson.

Law enforcement recovered a loaded Vulcan V10-9 9mm pistol with a high capacity magazine, a loaded polymer 80Inc 9mm handgun with no serial number, commonly called a “ghost gun”, over 14 grams of loose fentanyl, more than 300 glassine bags of packaged fentanyl/cocaine mixture, over 12 grams of “crack” cocaine, over $4600 in US Currency, along with multiple scales and packaging materials.

As a result of the discovery, 31-year-old Michael Wardlaw-Brown and Winston White, age 28 were arrested at the scene.  The two Poughkeepsie residents were transported to the US District Court – Southern District of New York.  The suspects were arraigned on multiple federal gun and narcotics-related charges.  They are currently in the custody of the US Marshall’s Service.

Captain Wilson noted that the apartment building has been the subject of multiple complaints by community members.  Just recently, gunshots were fired through the door of an occupied apartment in the building.
