TOWN OF NEWBURGH – A family’s Easter holiday has been ruined by a fire that caused considerable damage to their home in the Town of Newburgh.

Orange Lake firefighters were called to 155 Meadow Hill Road around 12:30 Sunday morning and were met with flames shooting from the roof.

The two-alarm blaze brought out firefighters from the City of Newburgh, Winona Lake and Stewart Air National Guard.

Fire extended to a front porch area, but was contained inside the residence.

Town of Newburgh Police and EMS were on the scene and the town fire inspector was called in. Central Hudson was called in to cut power.

An Orange County fire coordinator responded to the scene. The fire is under investigation.
