KINGSTON – A Kingston man has been committed to the Ulster County Jail on $50,000 cash bail following his arrest on Thursday, April 1.
Kingston City detectives located Leon Peters, 35, on Broadway at Liberty Street around 11:30 in the morning.
He was wanted on a felony warrant for criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
During the arrest, Peters was found in possession of a .380 handgun. He fought with officers and attempted to flee, but was taken into custody without injuries to anyone.
In addition to the drug charges, he was booked on felony criminal possession of a loaded firearm and a misdemeanor of resisting arrest.
