Haverstraw man cited with 12 tickets after attempting to elude troopers

HAVERSTRAW – A Town of Haverstraw man, who refused to comply to a state trooper when he broke vehicle and traffic law, was eventually stopped and issued 12 tickets.

On Tuesday, March 16 at around 7:30 p.m., a trooper spotted a 2006 Toyota Corolla on Route 202 in Haverstraw violating traffic laws. The trooper initiated a traffic stop, but the driver, later identified as Jeremy Singh, 24, failed to comply and fled the area entering the Palisades Parkway southbound weaving in and out of traffic while reaching a top speed of 85 mph.

The vehicle was finally stopped by troopers at exit 10.

Singh was driving with a suspended license and was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle and reckless driving as well as 12 tickets.

He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Haverstraw Town Court.
