Governor Andrew Cuomo: "I'm not kidding"

WASHINGTON – Amid the growing sexual harassment scandal facing Governor Andrew Cuomo, New York’s two U.S. senators say he should bow out.

Late Friday afternoon, Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, Democrats like the governor, issued a joint statement.

“Confronting and overcoming the Covid crisis requires sure and steady leadership. We commend the brave actions of the individuals who have come forward with serious allegations of abuse and misconduct. Due to the multiple, credible sexual harassment and misconduct allegations, it is clear that Governor Cuomo has lost the confidence of his governing partners and the people of New York. Governor Cuomo should resign.”

Republicans and Democrats on all levels of government have called for Cuomo’s resignation.

On Thursday, the Democrat-controlled State Assembly announced its Judiciary Committee will investigate the charges and the State Attorney General began her own investigation into the allegations.
