CAMPBELL HALL – A 32-year-old City of Poughkeepsie woman was arrested on Saturday morning, March 6 after she was caught by a state trooper unlawfully inside a home on Stony Ford Road in Campbell Hall.

The woman, identified as Jeanette Wright, told the officer she had entered the wrong house and attempted to walk away, but he told her she could not leave.

At that point, she began cursing at him and said he could not stop her from leaving. While being detained, she resisted and threatened to spit on the trooper. As she was being escorted to the trooper’s vehicle, Wright began to kick and spit at the trooper.

The homeowner arrived and said he did not know Wright and did not give her permission to enter his home.

Wright was charged with felony burglary and misdemeanors of obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. She was also found in possession of a small amount of marijuana.

She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Hamptonburgh Town Court.
