Teenage pedestrian struck, seriously injured, by vehicle

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Dutchess Turnpike in the Town of Poughkeepsie Thursday afternoon remains under investigation by town police.

A blue Cadillac CTS driven by a 39-year-old Poughkeepsie woman collided with a 17-year-old male pedestrian also from Poughkeepsie.

Police said the pedestrian sustained apparent serious injuries and was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital. The extent of the injuries was not known as of Friday afternoon, police said.

Poughkeepsie Town Police were assisted at the scene by the Arlington Fire Department and Mobile Life Support Services.

The investigation is ongoing, and police ask anyone who witnessed the incident to call the traffic enforcement unit at 845-485-3680.
