NEWBURGH – The City of Newburgh’s Right-to-Know law, adopted last year, has taken another step toward full implementation with police department business cards.

Each officer now has personalized cards with their name, rank, department ID number and phone number. They are to be handed out to members of the public during any encounter.

Persons receiving the cards are advised that they may contact the chief of police or the Police Community Relations and Review Board with their concerns.

The city’s Right-to-Know law is designed to provide open communications and transparency between the police department and the community.
