BEACON – A 41-year-old Beacon man was struck and killed as he walked on the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge late Sunday night and was struck by a tractor-trailer.

State Police said Stephen Tomlins was pronounced dead on the scene.

Troopers said at about 11:30 p.m., they were notified by the New York State Bridge Authority that a pedestrian was seen on bridge security cameras walking on the south span of the bridge – the eastbound structure.

Police have released still images from bridge cameras and they may show the vehicles involved in the crash.
