WALDEN – A two-alarm fire at a house at 118 Plains Road in Walden early Saturday morning heavily damaged the 40-foot by 70-foot structure.
Area fire departments were called to the scene after 2:30 a.m. for a report of heavy fire in the two-family building. Mutual aid departments at the scene assisting Walden included Newburgh, Coldenham, Stewart Air Guard, Orange Lake, Montgomery and Plattekill.
A draft site was established to provide water.
Firefighters reported icing conditions as the temperatures dipped into the low 20s.
All occupants safely escaped the fire.
