MIDDLETOWN – The Middletown City Police Department is the latest law enforcement agency in the Hudson Valley to implement the use of body cameras.

Police Chief John Ewanciw said they have been phased in and tested up to now.

“We will be fully implemented by January 4th. It has been a great program; it has been a great vendor to work with. My staff has done a great job getting us up and ready for this. So, as you see the officers in the community, they will have the body cameras on them,” the chief said.

The cameras are considered an excellent tool to document police interactions with the community.
