ALBANY – Monday marked the first day that COVID-19 vaccinations were administered around the nation, yet despite that being a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel, tragic statistics continue.

Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus said there were a number of deaths from the virus in the last few days.

“We had eight deaths to report since Friday. Seven of them were nursing home residents. One was not a nursing home resident and the ages ranged from 57 to 90,” he said.

The number of positive cases of the virus continues to climb across the Hudson Valley and health officials reinforce the need to wear masks, wash your hands often, and maintain social distancing.
