MOUNTAINDALE – A one-car crash on Sullivan County Route 56 in Mountaindale has claimed the life of the driver.
State Police said John Delgado, 21, was driving a 2011 Dodge Avenger around 6:15 a.m. on Saturday, November 21. The investigation determined he was traveling at a high rate of speed when his vehicle crested a hill and he lost control.
The vehicle crossed both lanes and left the road crashed and becoming lodged between several large trees.
Delgado was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. There were no passengers in the vehicle.
The investigation is continuing.
State Police were assisted by the Wurtsboro Fire Department.
