Johnny Machado pled guilty to the felonies of leaving the scene of an accident without reporting it and criminally negligent homicide.

On September 20, 2019, Machado drove near Dobbs Ferry High School on Broadway, Route 9, when his car struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The victim, 91-year-old Rocco DePaolo, who attended a high school football game, was walking home around 9:25 p.m.
