HUNTER – A 65-year-old hiker from Sunnyside had to be rescued by state forest rangers on last Saturday afternoon.
Greene County 911 received a call about the man who was injured when he fell backward off Bastion Falls and plummeted some 20 feet resulting in serious injuries.
The hiker was placed in a litter, carried out to the road at 1:15 p.m., and was transported by Hunter Ambulance to a waiting helicopter headed to a local hospital.
