Cuomo secures commitment from Orthodox leaders to spread the word about COVID protocols

ALBANY – Governor Cuomo spoke this morning with the leaders of the Orthodox Jewish community in Rockland and Orange counties and Brooklyn about the need for residents to follow the proper protocols to prevent COVID-19.

A positivity rate of one percent of less is good and the governor said Rockland County’s is 6.5 percent and Orange County’s s 1.9 percent.

Cuomo said he will speak again this afternoon with the religious leaders to discuss how to disseminate the information for residents to practice social distancing and wear masks.

The governor took local governments to task for not enforcing the state laws and said if they do not, he will take control of the situation.
