AUSTERLITZ – On September 6, 2020, the New York State Police investigated a fatal motor vehicle crash on State Route 22 north of Osmer Road in the town of Austerlitz. 30-year-old Kevin Jones of Troy was killed in the wreck.
At approximately 12:45 a.m. Troopers were dispatched by Columbia County 911 for a serious crash called in by a concerned motorist. Upon arrival to the scene with Austerlitz and Canaan Rescue Squads, one vehicle was found off the roadway into a utility pole and multiple trees. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene
In addition to Austerlitz and Canaan emergency personnel, the Columbia County Coroner’s Office was also on scene.
