BEACON – The City of Beacon and Town of Fishkill have agreed to share the services of a full-time director of human resources and have hired Gina Basile for the post.
Both municipalities approved the intermunicipal agreement and Basile assumed her new post on July 20.
For the past 9 years, she served as manager of human resources for the New York State Bridge Authority.
Under the intermunicipal agreement, Basile will have offices at Beacon City Hall and Fishkill Town Hall and will work at each municipality on alternating days.
“A capable human resources professional is critical for municipal services today. And for communities the size of Beacon and Fishkill, sharing that professional is the best use of taxpayer dollars, and creates win-win for both communities,” said Beacon Mayor Lee Kyriacou.
“This was a great opportunity for Fishkill and Beacon to save the taxpayers money, and I look forward to doing ore of this, if possible, in the future,” said Town Supervisor Ozzy Albra.
