Shotgun pellets strike Ulster Sheriff’s vehicle

WAWARSING – Two men have been arrested in connection with an incident in which a shotgun was fired with pellets striking a marked Ulster County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle while driving on Rogue Harbor Road in Wawarsing. The deputy in the car was not injured.

Following the incident on Thursday, August 13, the sheriff’s deputy located the two men – Jason Gaudinier, 23, of High Falls, and Joseph Clark, 24, of Stone Ridge.

Gaudinier was charged with reckless endangerment and Clark was charged with violations of Environmental Conservation law by DEC Police.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. and shortly thereafter, the deputy located the men illegally hunting birds on state land without hunting permits and not during bird hunting season.

Both men were released on appearance tickets returnable to town court.
