NEWBURGH – A traffic stop on Route 17K in the Town of Newburgh resulted in the arrests of the two occupants of the 2015 Nissan Altima on drug and weapons charges.

The driver, Roy Brown, 59, of the City of Newburgh, was charged with felony drug possession and a misdemeanor of criminal possession of a weapon.

A search of the vehicle yielded a black wooden baton with a leather strap, glassine envelopes with approximately 14 grams of fentanyl, and several alprazolam and oxycodone pills.

The passenger, Alexis Lynch, 29, of New Windsor, was charged with felony and misdemeanor drug possession and manufacturing drug related paraphernalia.

Police found approximately 10 grams of crack cocaine on her during a search after the August 12 stop.

Both Brown and Lynch were arraigned virtually. Due to Brown’s previous felony convictions, he was remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail. Lynch was released on her own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
