POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County and Town of Poughkeepsie Officials, Wednesday, raised a new American flag at Stanley Still Park after the previous one was desecrated.
Joining in the flag-raising event were the American Legion, Town of Poughkeepsie Girl Scouts, 60 Softball League, Senator Sue Serino, County Executive Marc Molinaro, Councilman Bill Carlos, Highway Superintendent Marc Pfeifer and members of the McPeck family, for whom the fiend is named, as well as town residents.
Following the discovery of the desecrated flag, Town Supervisor Jay Baisley said it was “disgraceful and illegal and the individuals will be prosecuted when caught.”
