HUDSON – Two men were shot during an incident in a parking lot at Hudson Terrace Apartments in the City of Hudson late Saturday night and one of them has died.

The two victims were driven to Columbia Memorial Hospital in separate vehicles,” said Police Chief L. Edward Moore.

The 18-year-old victim, a Hudson resident, was pronounced dead. The 30-year-old victim was airlifted to the Albany Medical Center trauma unit.

The names of both victims have been withheld.

Police foot patrols reported they heard several gunshots in the downtown area of the apartments around 10:54 p.m. Columbia County 911 received calls from residents of shots fired and moments later, Hudson Police received a call from the hospital that they were treating the two victims.

“Three recent shootings had prompted us to put an additional foot patrol in the downtown area,” said Chief Moore. “It is yet to be determined whether these incidents are all related.”

State Police and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office are assisting in the investigation and the State Police Forensic Investigations Unit processed the scene.
