Over 1,100 Hudson Valley residents die from COVID-19

HUDSON VALLEY – The number of people to die in the Hudson Valley from the coronavirus as of Saturday afternoon is 1,147, according to the State Department of Health.

Westchester County continues to have the highest number of deaths at 668.

The number of people to die in Rockland County stands at 250.

Orange County recorded 141 deaths as of Saturday.

Dutchess County had 40 deaths while Putnam County recorded 33 deaths, Columbia County had 12 fatalities and Sullivan County had seven.

Greene County remained the only county in the greater region to record no deaths from COVID-19.

Health officials remind everyone to wash their hands often with soap and water, use hand sanitizer, keep their faces covered and wear gloves when going out in public, don’t touch your face, and stay at home as much as possible.
