KINGSTON – No one at the Ulster County Jail has tested positive for the coronavirus, Sheriff Juan Figueroa told members of the county legislature’s law enforcement committee on Wednesday.

He did say, however, a couple of deputies did show signs.

“Nobody here has contracted the virus here at the facility. We did have two deputies who did test positive, but they are back to work already,” he said. “We do have protocols in place to safeguard.”

Those include only one access point into the jail. All employees must wash their hands and have their temperature checked before entering.
