GOSHEN – Despite the governor’s call for businesses to scale back the number of employees at their worksites, construction is moving full steam ahead at the site of the Legoland amusement park in the Town of Goshen.

The facility is slated for a July 4 opening.

“The health and safety of our team is always our top priority and we will take all necessary precautions to ensure their continued welfare,” said Julie Estrada, head of public relations North America for Merlin Entertainments. “We have implemented enhanced cleaning regimens in all our office spaces and on our construction site and will follow recommended practices and government recommended guidelines as appropriate to maintain a safe environment.”

Estrada said their public safety team is “alert to signs of coronavirus symptoms and we continue to stress to our employees the importance of good hygiene.”

She said they are “following the guidance of state, county, and local authorities, and like many businesses, we continue to monitor the situation closely so we may respond quickly to any developments.”
