MIDDLETOWN – The dean of Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown predicts COVID-19 will “settle down” once a vaccine is developed.

But, Dr. Kenneth Steier expressed concern about the impact of the illness right now. “All these different viruses, whether it’s the swine flu or SARS, or ebola virus, they kind of reek hazard for a while. Everybody is working on vaccines and treatment; hopefully something will come soon to be able to treat this and prevent a further spread,” he said. “Eventually it will settle down, but right now it’s hard to say when.”

Dr. Steier said COVID-19 is “a big issue; we’re very concerned about it.”
