GOSHEN – Orange County Health Commissioner Dr. Irina Gelman is recommending and all large social gathers or events in the county be canceled or postponed for at least the next 14 days.

The purpose of the action is to slow the spread of coronavirus and keep area communities and residents healthy.

As of now, there is one confirmed case of COVID-19 in Orange County.

Dr. Gelman said given the confirmed community transmission of the virus in Ulster and Rockland counties and several cases in Nassau County and New York City, as well as the large scale outbreak in Westchester, limiting large social events at this time is important to maintaining public health.
