CATSKILL – A Greene County Court jury has convicted a Hudson man of the violent felony of assault.

The proof at trial showed Raymond Adrian, 40, entered Brennan’s Bar in Earlton at about 6:30 p.m. on November 17, 2018.  Adrian later became irate when the bartender stopped serving him because of his level of intoxication. Adrian called another patron to the wooden deck where Adrian allegedly punched and kicked him several times. Adrian then left the bar with two others, leaving the victim on the ground. The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center where he remained for about two weeks suffering from several fractures to his face and jaw, which required placement of permanent steel pins and screws.

Plastic surgery was also required.

The defense argued that the perpetrator was someone other than Adrian and that whoever the perpetrator was, that person did not intend to cause serious physical injury.

The jury did not accept the defense and found Adrian guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

He will be sentenced at a later date.
