Janso promoted to Lloyd Town Police chief

HIGHLAND – Thirty-year Town of Lloyd Police officer James Janso has been promoted to police chief by the town board.

Janso, who had been acting chief, most recently held the position of lieutenant.

He started his career with Lloyd Town Police in March 1990 and has held the ranks of police officer, investigator and for the past seven years, lieutenant.

As acting chief, he has already begun working with the town board to set in motion new initiatives to increase safety and deter criminal acts in several areas of the town.

Janso said he plans to continue community-related initiatives that are already a staple of the department including Cops and Coffee, Youth Rec League, and others that will enhance community relations between residents and the police department.
