KINGSTON – Ulster County Executive Patrick Ryan has rolled out his Mobile County Government Initiative that will take county government on the road and bring resources to residents across the county.

Ryan, department heads and other county employees will work out of town offices alongside town officials as part of the county executive’s Responsive and Responsible Government initiative.

The county will bring its offices to five locations in each quarter of the year.

The first five regions for the first quarter are:

  • Marlborough – Monday, February 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the town courtroom
  • Shandaken – Friday, March 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Shandaken Town Hall
  • Shawangunk – Friday, March 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Shawangunk Town Hall
  • Saugerties – Tuesday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Saugerties Town Hall
  • Ellenville – Tuesday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Trudy Farber Resnick Building

Ryan said one of the main themes he has heard from county residents is that “people want a direct personal relationship with their government.” He said Kingston “should not be the only option for residents to receive services.”
