NANUET – For the most part, Rockland County lost is rural look decades ago, but on Thursday afternoon Clarkstown Police were alerted by a concerned resident of a loose pig in their front yard.

Patrol officers located the porker as it ambled along Forest Brook Road in Nanuet.

A search of the surrounding area for a possible owner turned up no one.

Clarkstown Police Animal Control Officer Patricia McCoy-Coleman transported the pig to the Hudson Valley Human Society.

The good news is Porky’s owner was located and the animal was reunited with them. The owners told police they were visiting from out-of-state and the pig had gotten loose.

It will be seen by a veterinarian to ensure it is in good health.

Authorities said the pig appeared to have overgrowth of its hooves.
