MAYBROOK – Police from Maybrook, Town of Montgomery, State Police and SWAT teams from the Orange and Sullivan County Sheriff’s Offices were called to the scene of a residence on Homestead Avenue Thursday evening for a report of a suicidal man barricaded in the bedroom.
He was reported to have a handgun and shotgun and at one point, a shot was fired into a bedroom ceiling from a high-powered rifle.
About an hour later, a police officer was observed talking to the man through a window and he later exited the building, was taken into custody and transported to a medical facility for a mental health evaluation.
