Last of four co-defendants sentenced in murder

WHITE PLAINS – A New Rochelle man has been sentenced in Westchester County State Supreme Court to 23 years in prison to run concurrently with his earlier prison terms in connection with a murder in Mount Vernon.

Sincere Smith, 24, was sentenced on Friday based on his guilty plea to manslaughter in the death of Trevon Boswell between May 21 and 22, 2017.

Smith was indicted along with Eric Lee, Allen Copeland and Leroy Garcia for participating in a series of violent events including the murder of Boswell, an intended robbery victim.

The robberies spanned more than 12 hours taking the men across several jurisdictions including Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, Yonkers and the Bronx.

All three co-defendants are serving time.

Smith was sentenced earlier to 14 years in state prison for a robbery in Ossining on February 12, 2017. He pled guilty to robbery in March 2018. He was also sentenced to seven years in prison for assault. On February 28, 2018, he was convicted regarding a May 13, 2017 incident in a New Rochelle barbershop where he and another man pistol-whipped a victim.
